Yo mon. Im still here so I can speak like a local for a cpl more days yet.

First things...upgrading transatlantic flights. Do it. Prem econ is about £250 pp uprade on VA. It is worth every pound. Ignore everybody who says it isnt. This is doubly true if you have a wife. If you married and blessed enough to not understand that then shut up and gratefully accept you are in a minority.

St. Lucia. Awesome place. Next tip...spend the £100 on the helicopter transfer. Its fantabulous value for dosh.

We are at the Bodyholiday LeSport. Great place, good food,4 restaurants, deli serves all day, bar open all day and high tea at 4pm. Amazing spa for the women, excellent watersports and golf for the accountants, bankers and layers so they can stay out of the way. Rooms are fantastic, private balconies and ours is 20ft from the surf. Todays activities have been scuba, water volleyball, tubing and beach volleyball. The wife has done some womeny things. Some yoga, aqua aerobics, zumba, spa thingies.

There is a brilliant cat tour to do around the island, takes you to the Piton peaks, tour inland into a dormant volcano...drive right into the caldera! Excellent but smells like Vixpy after the kebabs. Botanic gardens and coffee plantation. Oh yes free beer on the cat and run punch smile Some snorkelling in a bay aswell.

Loads of other tours aswell, into the rainforest, more serious scuba visits to the reefs and even hiking/climbing the Pitons.

Top class holiday. Im burnt like a bd.

We are currently sat at JFK airport, after a ridiculously early transfer from our hotel, waiting for our flight to St Lucia, the second half of our honeymoon. Your report makes it sound like the 4am start is going to be worth it!

Wife and I went to St. Lucia a few years back. Having to been to lots of the Caribbean we thought St. Lucia was OK, that's all. We think there are far better places. However, what suits us will not suit everyone else of course.

Stayed at Windjammer Landings, a sort of resort village with a shuttle bus to take you around. Good beach and other facilities etc.

We don't usually take any trips but we did do the day trip to Union Island plus schooner island cruise round the Grenadines such as Palm Island, Mayreau etc. Fab flight there in a small plane. We were fortunate that there were only maybe a total of 6 of us that day so we had the schooner to ourselves. Not a cheap day, this, but unforgettable.

Helicopter from the International Airport, especially the return, is worth aranging, otherwise it's a boring and long trip to/from the north of the island where most hotels are.

A great restautant is the Coalpot, despite its name ! Lovely waterside location, good for both lunch and dinner.

The Buzz Bar is also good for evening drinks, meal etc, casual style too.

OK back.

Further thoughts: Dont try and upgrade your Prem Econ upgrade for the return flight on the day, even with early mornign check in at your hotel...the plane is fully booked for the good stuff, that includes all the Prem and Upper tickets! Being stuck in econ is hell. Never again.

7 days at the Bodysport place is enough for us. Very good, but both the wife and I start to get cabin fever. The waiters/staff are very much in a "servent" mode, there is a strict them/us master/servant thng going on. Very regimented and that is directed from the hotel management. We are both uncomfortable with that to be honest, I like some good old fashionec cheeky bd interaction. Im really not good with ppl serving me, I like ppl to make bloody sure I know they are my equal.

A lot of ppl return to the place every yr, we can see why in some respects, but our next thoughts are to do a cpl of locations. Possibly St Nevis and St Vincent, 5 days each next yr. I fly a st load already, so have now got Virgin Flyers membership and the credit card, will rack up serious air miles quickly, so decent flights next time without having to pay a fortune!

St Lucia though is a cool place, we liked it. The constant breeze also really really helps!
