Be interested to hear replies, potential destination for me.
OP - rough costs? Obviously hotel dependent etc.
After loads of hotel research I decided to book something reasonably decent (I think). I was looking at a few cheaper places but I reckon they could have ruined the holiday going by some reviews on TA - I know some of these are questionable aswell..OP - rough costs? Obviously hotel dependent etc.

Per person? Half board? 4star or 5?We paid £2k for flights and hotel, 10% cash back through quidco..
For both for decent hotel seems ok, which I am guessing it is...
I would second the advice to head to a Basketball game, although I would say that 10 days would be way to much time in Miami best get a car and do some touring.
I was in Miami in October and TBH seen all that I would want to see in 2 days, lucky enough it was a stop over for us as 2 days was plenty of time. And the airport is nuts as are all main routes into the USA, even more so if you happen to land during a busy period. You WILL be in the imigration queue for a long time.

Get a hire car and get out and about, unless you want to sit on a beach all day you'll need a car, 10 days stuck in Miami? Get down to the Keys, drive across to the Gulf coast, plus there are loads of parks and visitor attractions, get out in the Everglades and see some alligators!
