Great hotel in Turkey is Montana Pines on the outskirts of Hisaronu and Olu Deniz. Despite it's location it's up in the hills, and quiet. It has a taxi rank right outside which is great. Been twice, last time 3 years ago. Find it on the internet, book direct, get a flight and you're all set.
Fly into Dalaman, and now maybe a thirty minutes transfer as the tunnel has been completed.

Turkey over Tunisia everytime. We go to Turkey twice a year and love it. Went to Tunisia once and didn't think much of it.
We went to Olu Deniz last May for £254 full board for 1 week from our local airport all in. Would thoroughly recommend Olu Deniz and there are plenty of deals about if you bide your time (IIRC we booked in March). Would however say that it wasn't especially quiet.
We go to a place called Bitez quite often. Quiet (no boom boom bars) and popular with the middle class turks. 15 minute bus ride from Bodrum too. We've stayed in apartments varying from £40 a night to £6 a night (yes, per room) and never had a problem anywhere with horror hotels there.
Turunc and Icmeler may also be worth consideration.

Olu Deniz is nice, first went there 20 years ago and then 2 years ago. Its changed massively, but unlike Spain they have kept it village-like and low-rise. Has a cool chill-out area on the beach at night on bean-bags and the lagoon there is beautiful. Hire a canoe, grab a picnic of fresh fruit from the beack and paddle to the other side were it is deserted. I love the place.
Oh, and it is the 2nd best place in the WORLD to paraglide, for about £80 you can jump off the mountain about 5,000 ft and glide down strapped to a guide. Quite awesome.

We went to Antalya in Turkey last July and found that it was completely different than when we last visited ten years previously. It felt as though everyone was out to get as much money out of you that they could, the dolmas driver who charged us £10 for a 5 minute journey when the locals where giving him coins for the same journey (he also charged the same to the other British family) to the shop keeper who wanted to charge me £90 (yes £90) for 2 kilo's of Turkish delight. The market trader who was asking £40 for 3 vest t shirts that were clearly fakes and claimed they were cheaper than Asda price, I could have bought the equivalent back home for about £10 from Asda.
This experience has put us of ever visiting Turkey again which is a shame because as a country it is fantastic, and that was the response from many British people we spoke to.

I can tell you, right now, that if you want somewhere quiet then Olu Deniz is not the place for you.were considering a get away in may and considering one of the above.

Mrs k & I went there last September after reading comments on Trip Advisor and recommendations from other people, that it was "a nice, quiet resort".
Was it f
k.Noisy bars with waiters talking in cod-estuary accents (awwwight maayt - Turkish style) >shudder<, cheap tourist tat shops, restaurants specialising in roast beef dinners and full English breakfasts with football on demand. The one good restaurant (Captain Hooks) was ruined after 9 p.m. by the ruckus from the karaoke bar opposite, but that was OK as we found one quiet friendly bar at the far end of town to retire to.
It even had a supermarket called, and I s
t you not, "AZDA".If we wanted all that, we'd have saved ourselves £hundreds and driven to Blackpool.
But if hot weather and paragliding flicks your switch, then go for it

I’ve never been to Turkey, although I know a few people who really like it. I went to Tunisia last April, unsurprisingly with all the political trouble it was dirt cheap, I think we paid something like £500 for both of us AI for a week in a 4* hotel. We just wanted a week by the pool with a good book and for what we wanted it was great. It was essentially a hotel out in the middle of nowhere, Tunisia seems to have a rep of people trying to sometimes aggressively sell you stuff but I can imagine this was compounded by the fact tourist numbers were low.
If you’re just going to stay within the hotels grounds I’d say one place is as good as another, Where we were in Tunisia looked a bit dirty out and about.

I presume you never sampled the delights of Hisaronu just up the hill then!Mrs k & I went there last September after reading comments on Trip Advisor and recommendations from other people, that it was "a nice, quiet resort".

We went to Olu deniz in Turkey last year and loved it.
However we stayed at Lykia World about 10 mins away and not the Olu deniz resort itself, which I thought was a bit too orientated towards English Patrons - Lots of tat in shops etc. Lykia world was nice and quiet in comparison
Also did the amazing paragliding from the company in Lykia world and landed back outside the restaurant in time for tea. Marvelous and a great experience!

A couple of Pheaders have been to Kalkan and stayed in Villa Yar. Owned by a Pheader and is in what sounds like the place you are after. Excellent restaurants, clear waters, people and quietness. No load discos or football shirts.
Google VILLA YAR and the website should come up.

Heartily recommend Villa Yar - most stunning place and certainly intend to visit again in the future.
What a price though! I rented a 4-bed, detached, new build villa with private pool in Turkey, from a work colleague for £450 a week!
Admittedly, it was five years ago, but that would represent some serious inflation!
