Portsmouth - Santander Ferry with twins

We've managed to negotiate 3 weeks off in March and thought we'd take our 4 month old twins to the north of Spain via the ferry. It's a 24 hour crossing and before I book it I wondered if anyone had done it with babies - was it ok?

Equally - if anyone's got any recommendations of where to stay (we're looking at self catering somewhere in Cantabria / Asturias) I'd be grateful
