As per title- going to Milan for 3 nights in mid Feb.

Any recommendations on Hotels? Budget is up-to 115 GBP per night.
Won't be spending time in the hotel except to sleep and breakfast is not important either.

Also any pointers for the shopping outlets around Milan?

Kudos

Last time I was there it wasn't great for hotels nor shopping, but that was a while ago. I stayed near the Duomo (sic?)

I bought some bird an Armani handbag from their HQ, but she never liked it. Can you take it back for me?

I think staying central is best or near a tube station. Tube system is easy to use as are the linate and malpensa shuttles. I stayed at the the idea watteridici last week which as ok/good.
Milan is not cheap tho'!

When I went I couldn't help thinking how much it looked like Birmingham.

Just sayin'.

Ignore the naysayers. Milan is a very lovely city - you just have to work a bit harder than most places.

I used to stay at the Hotel Cavalieri (Piazza Missori) which is about 100 yards from the Duomo. Try ringing them direct for a deal or use Octopus Travel or one of the other hotel deal sites. £115ish a night might be in reach if you consider taxes are included and also B&B... Ask for a room at the back to avoid screeching trams.

When I was there last week there was a taxi strike which meant lots of walking.

Tubes and trams are dead easy €1.50 per ticket from the nearest news stand or €7.5 per day I think.

Stay central - just like Birmingham - the suburbs in winter at least are nowt special.
