Hi forum,

Does anyone know if it's possible to do this trip by longtail? Flight gets to samui at 6, and last ferry appears to be 6.30 - and some clever bugger has already paid for a hotel in phangan that night =)
Ta muchly in advance

Absolute madness to consider this IMO.
Its about 45-50 minutes by fast ferry. In a longtail, you'd be looking at something like 2 hours or more, in the dark, in a boat with no coms, navs, safety equipment, secondary power and a boatman whose probably wired on Mehkong and Lipo! In all honesty, you would be far better to write off the cost of the first night on KP and relax on KS. Are you going for the Full Moon? When are you there?

Yes it will be possible, anything is possible in a long tail, but as Nobby said would it be safe? I think not, and it would be cheaper to stay the night and get the ferry next dat

Cheers for the input guys. I reckon we'll switch some days round, and avoid any risk - I thought it was a 20 minute crossing, and that area is well known for bot a pagga, as mentioned.
