March/April hot beach holiday....
Discussion
OK, I am looking to fly somewhere probably no more than 14 hours duration.
I'm looking for relatively cheap accommodation, food and drink.
Gorgeous beaches, not crowded.
I have done Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, OZ, Egypt before so looking for somewhere new.
Flight budget no more than about £650 and a grand for the rest, two week duration.
Any suggestions...

Should just be able to squeak into the Maldives for that: www.kuredu.com
Kerala is the southern tip of India on the western side. We went twice to the area around Lighthouse Bay at Kovalam, flying to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) airport. We stayed at the Kadaloram Beach Resort but while we were there in 2005, they whipped up a wonderful 5 star hotel next door which we had a lustful wander round.
The first time we went for 1 week and struggled to spend £200. A coffee at the airport was the equivalent of 5p.
I think nowadays they fly to Cochin and offer accommodation around that area which is a bit further north than we got.
Commercialisation is the enemy. There was a huge difference between 2004 and 2005 - I'd love to go back again but it's too far for young kids and I do hope they haven't over-commercialised it in the intervening 7 years.

Just looked at the room rates, think we are way off that sadly! :-( Morocco.
Cheap, hot, and chav-free.
Great beaches at Essaouira for surfing, camel rides, dune buggies, or just lazing about. The fish restaurants along the quayside are the place to go for fish that's just a few hours from the sea to your plate.
Alcohol isn't particularly cheap or easy to come by, but tbh I can quite easily sacrifice that for somewhere that's < 4 hours from the UK, warm, and civilised.
(NB: Take SWMBOs bank card away - it is very difficult not to go mad in the souks.)

Kuoni are showing 14 nights all inclusive for £1642 in may at kuredu.
I forgot to add, that it is just me on this trip so I need to find something that does not penalise me in the way of a single room supplement etcMorocco does appeal, but if I go on holiday I am not really going to enjoy it if beer and other grog is scarce/expensive. Will it be hot in March or April?
