What is the correct procedure for a Polish person to be able to visit the US for a two week holidy?

As i understand it due to Polands political past, anyone from Poland and similar countries have to apply in person for visa at the US Embassy in London town?

Anyone?

Correct - in part. Poland is not a Visa Waiver Program qualifying country. So, a B2 visitor visa is required for Polish citizens.

Polish citizens apply for a B2 visa at the US Consulate in Warsaw town, not London.

Thanks, i take it they don't have to physically apply at Warsaw, as this particular Polish citizen resides in the UK?

Correct, you are not required to physically present yourself - usually.
It might be worth checking with the US Consulate at Grosvenor Sq., if they will process a visitor visa application from an EU citizen, because their criteria change from time to time and it's been a while since had to deal with those jokers.
