I am aware of the big sights, but if anyone knows where there are interesting roads I would be grateful. ( will probably be driving something like a Fiat 500, unless they give me a free Ferrari upgrade...........)

Drive the Targa Florio route. Tbh the roads in Sicily are st. We drive all the way down there last year in our Elises and spent the entire time cursing the potholes, the road collapses, the locals and their lack of driving skills, and various and many unsignposted random road closures.

We vowed never to return except in a hire car frown

I would never drive in Sicily, I've been a few places around the world but Sicilians have a unique way of doing things. Do you know about Sicilian traffic light etiquette? What does a red light mean, for example? smile

I've just spent a week cycling there!

Tips.

Most of the roads are st
Most of the drivers are mental
When it rains, dear god does it rain and everything floods
In places, livestock is considered a roaduser
It is entirely acceptable to stop practically anywhere you want

And quite wonderfully, a combination of a decent climate and a huge number of tiny little garages run by octegenarian men, there are LOADS of old Italian cars running about, mostly Fiats but lots of old Lancias too which are great to see.

Drop me a pm and I'll send you the route. There are two "laps". It's in the central north of the island - where are you staying?
