Family of four going to Disney Paris on the 21st Oct staying at the Sequoia Lodge. We are on the Half Board plus plan and have a choice of Restaurants at the park to eat dinner.

Can anyone recommend some decent places to eat so that I can book in advance?

Sequoia Lodge has two restaurants, the one on the left is a la carte, the one on the right (as you walk in from the lake side) is an all-you-can-eat style buffet. With the kids, we preferred to eat there rather than the other one.

Do you want to eat in the park, or at the hotels? Personally, of all the restaurants we have been to there (we have been something like 15 times), the buffet at the Sequoia Lodge was about the best value.

In the parks, there is a decent choice, best one we went to was the Silver Spur Steakhouse in Frontierland. I always fancied trying the one that is next to the Pirates of the Carribean ride, but never actually got round to it.

Top tip - take a load of bread rolls and croissants at breakfast time, that way you won't really need to buy any lunch. Depends on how brass necked you are, a lot of the French had no issues with taking a cool bag down to breakfast and filling up, we were a little less obvious about it!

We stayed at the sequoia a few years ago and shamefully did the same!

My usual tip in the Disneyland Paris threads (hint) is to pop in to the mini-mart inside the RER station by the gates to buy well priced goods.

The best restaurant in the Park itself is, without a shadow of ANY doubt, Walt's on Main St.

Silver Spur Steakhouse not bad either.

Outside the park it's a toss up at the lower end between Annette's Diner and The Steakhouse.

Personally we've not been that impressed with the hotel restaurants. Sequoia Lodge was best of a bad bunch, New York Hotel Parkside Diner frankly inedible.

Can recommend the New York's champagne cocktails. Not cheap.

Booking in advance is definitely recommended as sometimes the restaurants are totally booked out by corporate conference do's. Hotel concierge will help.

A year or so ago we had meal vouchers with a disney hotel stay (might have been newport bay, I dont recall) we ate at the place next to the pirates of the caribbean ride. it was ok, but the meal voucher we had only entitled us to a limited menu, which wasn't as interesting as the regular one. It was ok but we felt like 2nd class diners and were rushed through with surly service - mind you that is not to unusual at DLP

We did the same after seeing all of the foreiners doing the same thing. Some of them had production lines going with one cutting the rolls, another buttering them, another adding the cheese and ham/salami and another wrapping them....

We went there to pick up soft drinks and snacks to take into the park. You can also get fairly cheap beer there to take back to the hotel, much better than the 9 euro a bottle in some of the restaurants.

We ate at the Blue Lagoon located at Pirates of the Carribean. Great setting, it's done out like a Carribean Harbour side at night time, with the boats from the ride passing through the restaurant. If you want menus of the various places to eat look here.

The Steak House in the Disney Village is pretty good.
