Weekend Theater Breaks In London

Planning to suprise the other half with a 2 day trip in December and to do some Xmas shopping. Can anybody recommend a good Hotel or site/agent to arrange this through.

Any good/bad experiences would be useful to know.

I already know which show we want to see.

We're staying in the Novatel next to the British Library in a couple of weeks time. Close to tube and fairly central. Just got some cheap comedy club tickets for the Friday night . . . .
