Mee too. Need 1 single and 1 twin for me, son and grandson aged 9 for next year's LMs and Classic races around September 2012, I suspect. Son and I usually go to Le Mans in June and Le Classic Le Mans but grandson is deperate to go with us so we plan to use Silverstone 2012 as a trial run ahead of 2013.

It depends how close you want to get. There is a premier inn and a travelodge very close by but they tend to put their prices right up for big events. There is another Travelodge slightly further away in Buckingham. Then slightly further away still there are quite a few hotels around Northampton and Towcester. Then you've got Milton Keynes, still relatively close if you're driving and full of hotels.
www.snoozebox.com may suit both of you.
Was set up last weekend for the BSB round, and google says they will be at le mans too.

My local Premier Inn (Harpole - Northampton West - just off M1 j16) is always popular when there is an event on at Silverstone.
The food in the adjacent restaurant - The Turnpike (one of the revamped Beefeaters) - is perfectly fine. There are a few other nice pubs in the area. Silverstone is about 20 mins away.

If thats the one on the A43 its OK. The food is OK and the lady who does the breakfast will look after you very well if you chat her up. Its not luxurious but its comfortable, clean and cheap. The food in the adjacent restaurant - The Turnpike (one of the revamped Beefeaters) - is perfectly fine. The A43 one is known as the Silverstone one.
