My bro' and I are looking to send our parents on a nice holiday, and we were thinking of Austria, as I've been a couple of times and think they'd love it.

However, I've only been in the summer, and we're thinking of sending them in the next couple of months - can anyone recommend anywhere please?

Ideally somewhere that a late middle aged couple would enjoy, i.e. lovely scenery, places to visit etc?

Thanks smile

Saltzberg is very nice. Quite a lot to see there. Lots of nice little cobbled streets, you can go in Mozarts old house, there is a big castle up on the hill overlooking the town which is pretty interesting to go around. The coat of arms for it is a big turnip !! Generally a very attractive town with plenty to do.

When exactly are you thinking of sending them? There's a lot of difference is what to do depending on whether it's in October, November or December.
