Mid Wales hotel reccomendation?

Hi forum,

I'm after a nice place to take the missus in the mid wales area - I'm thinking Bala, Dolgellau, that sort of area (ish).

Can anyone reccomend a decent place? We'd be after meals out in the evening, but other than that just a nice place for a romantic weekend.

This place is in a small village, very hidden away.
I use it when green laning, the steak baguettes and ales are superb.
I dont know about the quality of the rooms, but the public areas are all very comfortable in a "shabby-Chic" kind of way.
I know they accomodate some very well heeled guests.

Its full of period character and wouldnt hesitate to take my mrs for a dirty romantic weekend.
