I'm off to France tomorrow with my better half for my 1st ever roadtrip and visit to France, nothing too crazy train over a night in Chartres 2 nights in Sancere a night in Angers and 2 night in a eurocamp 1.5 hours from Angers, so all roughly around Loire Valley.

Ive got my european tom tom, maps, high viz vest, spare bulbs, refelctive triangle, insurance docs, money and passport but I cant help thinking I've forgotton something.

Can you think of anything or am I just being a girl??

Camera and other half?

On a more serious note - it's worth taking a 'Constat Amiable d'Accident Automobile'

Have a read of this (just in case)

Sounds great!

If we're being really picky, keep the hi-viz inside the cabin

Driving licence? Do you need to phone your insurance?
And is it worth phoning your bank, so they don't freeze your card because of the unusual spending pattern?

You and your passenger need one within reach of your seats I believe.

Green card? You've mentioned 'insurance docs' but you still often need to get one of these to trigger the insurance abroad to be fully comp instead of 3rd party.

Notified breakdown company of dates abroad? Some of them don't cover you unless you notify them, even though you have EU cover.

Euros? wink

Learn from my mistake!

Spare oil (a litre bottle is fine)
Bottle of water (not for drinking)

If using your credit card, alert them you're going abroad and may use it.

My car's leased so I need a letter from the owner explaining I have the right to take it. Just a though incase you're car is too. Copy of the V5 always helps too, local plod can be very picky sometimes.
