Recomendations on ski resorts to take the other half.
Discussion
It appears likely that I can add a forth weeks skiing next year in February (the week after half term). It will be just me and my other half, she's a pretty decent intermediate IMO having skied for about 3 years, she strictly likes to keep to the piste though which is maybe why we've never skied together much when it's just been the two of us.
I might wait until the last minute to see what deals are around and where has the best snow but I'm really fixed to that week. Budget around £1.5-2k, with as much food and drink included in that as possible. She's only ever skied in France, where I'd like to go won't really suit her so looks like something with loads of blues and reds is the order of the day. I fancied Switzerland but unless we get a second mortgage or an AI deal it's a none starter due to the £ vs the Swiss Franc.

Sounds just like my wife! Being based in Meribel has worked well for us, three valley skiing is enough for most and being able to mix terrain should keep you amused too. It's a bit 'British' but better out of school holidays, we like to stay in Village, it has it's own lift straight out so you miss the mess that is the central Chaudanne area and you can ski straight back in at the end of the day. Try www.skibasics.co.uk. I have driven it but a flight to Geneva is much easier.

How about Samoens
The village of Samoëns is located in the Vallée du Giffre in the French Alps and carries the designation of a "ville fleurie" distinguishing it as one of the most beautiful towns in France. It is a popular summer destination as well as the site of a ski resort that departs from a new lift (Grand massif Express) at the edge of town linking up to Samoëns 1600 also known as the Plateau des Saix, this resort is part of the larger five town Grand Massif which includes Flaine and Morillon. The Grand Massif ski area has 265 km of slopes (17 Green, 60 blue, 53 Red and 14 Black)
And if this agrees, ping these a line.

Close friends of ours (Tom & Ali) and are great hosts
Thanks for the recomendations. Will have a look at those, I'm not 100% but we may be running the risk of hitting the French school holidays. I'm not against France as I usually ski there at least once a season.
Although Switzerland is putting allot of people off due to the strength of the Franc there are some pretty good deals tempting me, 2 for 1 lift passes, FB accomadation is working out at circa £600 a head. Still I think I'm going to hold my nerver and book last minute.

Try Engleberg, not far from Zurich, good mix of pistes and off-piste not far from the beaten track. Has the fantastically named Mount Titlis at the top of the resort...
Try Serre Chevalier in France, good pistes, cheaper, fly into Turin..
Been to Engleburg before and don't think it's really suited to my o/h. Great off piste but limited stuff for her. Try Serre Chevalier in France, good pistes, cheaper, fly into Turin..

Be VERY careful where you go as plenty of schools on the continent will still be on holiday...the French schools take half term over a three week period depending on which area it is. You don't want to be anywhere near France or french speaking Switzerland if the French are on holiday....especially when it's Paris's week.
