Seychelles budget
Discussion
Me and my girlfriend are going to the seychelles tomorrow and just wondering if anyone has been and can advice me on how expensive it is to eat and drink out there. Where going to Denise island for 5 days all inclusive and 5 days at the four seasons half bored. Any feed back would help settle my mind as my funds are low at this moment in time.

Stayed at the 4 seasons there a couple of years ago, a few months after it opened. (went diving a few times as well
)All I can say is if your funds are low, you are f
ked.I found the Seychelles to be about twice as dear as Dubai.
Couple of examples I recall:
2x Pina Colada's (on the beach) = 30E
Dinner with 2 glasses of wine and two mojito's = 200E
Hotel was lovely, but service was dire.
All in all, we found the Seychelles to be a major letdown. One of those places you imagine in your mind to be out of this world, only to find the reality is far from that. In some ways it reminded me of St Lucia, but we much preferred St Lucia.
I didn't think eating out was that expensive at all.... eat where the locals eat and it's cheaper than chips! The dive school we spent a lot of time at on Praslin used to get lunch in for those that were diving morning and afternoonl. Those hot lunches were <EUR2 each!
Even a restaurant in the capital on the night we were flying home only cost about EUR20 for 2 including beer & wine.
(People who visited the hotel we stayed in on Praslin had to pay north of EUR60 for the BBQ buffet though!)
ENJOY!
Personally, I'd LOVE to go back - and woudl go back to the same hotel on Praslin too.
TIP: Buy some Duty Free booze in the UK and elave the bags sealed up. Buying mixers locally when you're not all inclusive can save you a small fortune.
