Flying Economy challenge
Discussion
Hmm.
I'd imagine you'll be travelling for what, 36 hours each way? So that's 3 days plus a day in Sydney, gives 4 days. If you were sensible you'd stay on UK time so jet lag wouldn't be an issue.
If it was work paying, I'd expect hourly rate for the whole journey (plus full expenses obviously) and maybe a 25-50% bump for a Brucie.
So about a grand. Plus the cost of a dozen Valium.
ETA assuming you didn't WANT to go, but you were going for work purposes.

I flew to NZ with Singapore Airlines in economy and it was great. I really can't see the point of wasting another £4k. I arrived in Auckland at around 11am and went straight to the office for the rest of the day, no problem. Same on the way back. Ticket cost £950 and was the cheapest out of BA (£400 more) and Lufthansa (was about £2k more!)
Economy with who?
There is a big difference between Singapore economy - TV, power, not bad sized seats, attentive hostess', a limited selection of free drinks, etc - and AirAsia X economy - no TV, no power, smaller seats, no free drinks (£3 for a bottle of water!!), crap waiting lounges etc.
