So sort of following on from the who's going in 2012. It's the end of the summer and it's been so long since I skied at the end of April I could cry..... So thought I'd share some pics to make me feel better and invite anyone else to do the same. You can also try and guess the resorts mountains as a bit of a game.

If anyone knows where the one above and the one above that is you get bonus points.

Nope the last one is in France, somewhere.

What's your fav resort? I def haven't been skiing as long as that, I think you need to start early to not have the fear which makes you better.

I have just bought a Chalet in Les Gets, great for all of us, the missus has just started and the Kids are coming along nicely.
Plenty for all standards, the the likes of Chamonix and Cormayeur only an hour away.

Will bear that in mind matey cheers! My PM is tied to my works email so will drop you a line once I'm back in the office next week. thumbup

Probably not a bad investment opp. My other half doesn't really share my passion for skiing. Sure she like it but I keep promising her we'll go together to let her build confidence and we keep ending up going on group holidays where she either has to go out of her comfort zone or be left at times!

Hmmmm. Just been to my pics folder for previous years, and there seems to be an ongoing theme.

Anybody spotted it yet?.....

Although I did use to do some serious racing. whistle

And this, I'm afraid to say, is the only single photo in existence of me skiing in the past ten years. Which is a little odd, given the time I spend out there in the winter.

I must get some racing pics next year. irked

I think this must be pretty common, I'm usually enjoying myself too much to stop and take pictures or for someone to take a few of me. I always say I'm going to get more pics next time but never do. Camera can break pretty easy in ski conditions to, not just falling on them but I've seen a few buggered cameras from extreme cold.

I had a really good video somewhere coming down La Grave. The guide just keeps saying on camera "Be like a cat-HISS if you fall try and claw in!-Like a cat HISS!"

Yup, I have pictures of me in Gargellen, c. 1983 (aged three years), holding an icicle, and cinefilm of me in a race, c. 1985, and even a couple of action shots up until around 1992-ish, but after that, things really are quite hazy.

So for twenty eight years skiing, and lord alone knows how many weeks (I counted to around 60-odd before I went and did a couple of seasons, so it must be in the 70s or 80s now), all I have is a handful of pics as a kid, and a few silly shots of mountain restaurants and tobogganing.

Note for next year : take some proper action shots.
