Cheap/Free stuff to do in London
Discussion
A couple of mates and I are going tomorrow, we have already previously done:
Natural History, Imperial War and Science Museum, Tate.
Oxford Street
Hamleys and Harrods
Any other free museums we are missing out on?
We are obviously into our cars, any ideas? Park Lane Showrooms are on the agenda for window shopping
We got a budget of roughly £50 each for the day excluding travel and parking costs and food. Any ideas on nice places to eat around central London? Thanks.
If you are travelling towards London on the M3 and M25 tommorow morning look out for the silver 528 with the PH sticker on the boot
Mods please keep on here as the regional boards are slow!

London Eye is quite nice if you've not done that before.
I also enjoy watching the street performers in Covent Garden and sometimes near Waterloo bridge as well. Covent Garden tends to attract a pretty varied mix of performers.
Could also try getting tickets to a west end show (loads of re-sellers around Leicester Sq). I love going to the theatre and a number of them will be doing a wednesday afternoon matinees tomorrow.
In terms of museums, there is also the British Museum.
For food, if you are not looking to spend too much then I'd recommend Wahaca (had good experiences of the branch on Wardour St). Imli on the same road is also worth a shout.

V&A Museum was free last time I checked.

Walk eastwards along the South Bank of the river from Waterloo Bridge to Shad Thames:

Go paddling in the Princess Diana memorial garden fountain. Brilliant fun and if you walk round it against the current loudly humming the Lord of the Rings theme with your mates who are also slightly drunk you'll get a few laughs out of everyone else there.

If you fancy something different, a guided walk of east london streets looking at street art. its free with optional tip to the guide & includes Banksy's 'pink car'.
