Paris Hotels - Anything "different"?
Discussion
Taking the wife on a surprise trip to Paris in October. Have been to Paris many times on business and always stayed in the run of the mill Intercontinental, Hiltons, Sheratons etc.
Are there any "hidden gems" that you guys can suggest? I've done the usual boutique-hotel search on google, but they all, somehow, seem sterile.
If anyone has any suggestions for independent, boutique style hotels in central paris, would be appreciated. Budget £100-£130 per night.

Stayed there in December last year, very nice, the staff speak good English - you might need to budget a bit more though - yours won't stretch far in central Paris.

Le Chat Noir Hotel in Montmartre. Stayed there a few years back, was decent and certainly had a lot more character than the usual chain type hotels. Worth a look.
Stayed at Apostrophe hotel last October (http://www.apostrophe-hotel.com) in the Montparnasse area, cool little boutique hotel, each room is themed, but done very nicely, not tacky at all. The owner was a lovely guy, really helpful and friendly. The showers/bathrooms are amazing!

I've stayed here a few times before. Its small and beautifully formed, very well located and utterly mad.

L'Hotel - it's very different from the Villa Royale, but the description could equally be of l'Hotel, except that instead of Montmartre, it's on the Rive Gauche in th Rue de Seine.
