Any one ever been to Lesbos/Levbos?

Yep, I spent 2 weeks there a while ago. Very nice.

Stayed in Petra which is really nice town, loads of good restaurants and a good beach.

Stayed in Skala Eressou (the seaside village linked to the inland town of Eressos) about fifteen years ago. I remember it having a couple of miles of sandy beach - the end farthest from the town being nudist territory.

Closer in to town there were plenty of bars and tavernas and a full-scale Italian ice-cream parlour.

Some of the seafront bars appeared to be places of pilgrimage for the followers of Sappho (who was born in Eressos); it felt strange to be one of the few "token males" in them; quite fun, though
