I have done them all but I would say Florida too.

April is the best time, last two times have been Easter. Great weather and no rain either year and no humidity!

Look at flights to tampa, can save a lot some times and it’s an hour further.

If you don’t want Disney look at the aqua parks, go to nasa , Everglades.

Best thing we did was take my 9 year old to an NBA basket ball game.

She still mentions it and she is 16 now!!

Shopping at the malls is fun but there is soo much to do.
I don't disagree but the NBA season ends at the end of March so likely to be tricky to do an NBA game in April.

Having also done all 3 of your options, for something truly memorable I'd suggest safari. We did Pumba last year with at the time a 15 and 12 year old and they loved it (and they aren't especially hugely into wildlife). With Pumba you are guaranteed to see lions etc, and whilst a game reserve isn't quite the same as going to Kruger (for example), it makes it easier for kids. Plus you can tag on Cape Town, which our kids loved too. Or you can choose other beach options in Africa or even Maldives or Mauritius.

Our kids also loved Orlando to be fair, with Universal a bigger hit than Disney. Staying at one of the Universal hotels gave us their version of fast-track, which was stacks better than the DIsney version as it was pretty much unlimited apart from the Harry Potter rides. It made a massive difference!

We went to Disney in August 2019 and have booked to go in August 2025. I wouldn't say it was unbearably hot. Yes it’s hot, but your children aren’t babies so you just have to be sensible. Wear sun cream, take a hat, drink lots of water. Ice water is free in all the theme parks. Yes it will rain most days, but only for a bit. The sun will shine the rest of the time.

Also worth bearing in mind the US schools go back mid August generally, so the last 2 weeks of August should be a bit quieter.

If your children ever found out they had an opportunity to go, and you chose an adult holiday instead (safari/caribbean) they might never talk to you again biggrin

I would do something similar to this, mainly for the variety of activities and experiences available.

If funds permit, book a trip to winter holiday to Lapland over Xmas.
