Hi

I’m looking for something that possibly doesn’t exist, but maybe someone can help?!

I want a cat/dog crate that will fit in the boot of a 3 series touring. Taking up as much of the boot as possible, so the cat has lots of room- it’s a long trip so need room for cat, bowl and litter.

Approx boot dimensions are 90w, 60d, 40-45h (depending on depth of crate and how far back in the boot it sits).

Any help welcome!

Thanks

Surely all you need is a 'dog' guard thing on the top of the rear seats? It sounds like the cat's getting the whole boot anyway.
Yes, true, but we need to be getting her in and out of the car at hotels, and also at border control at Dover.

Thanks though

So put her in a collar, with a long lead, clipped to the cage, so she has plenty of freedom, but can't run off when you open the tailgate.
Sadly hotels insist cats are in a crate.

I do feel you're not trying here. wink

Use a cat carrier in the hotel. You'd struggle to manouver a 3-series sized cage through an hotel anyway.

And that, you'll be happy to know, will be my final input on the subject. smile
Haha, I really do appreciate your effort!

I took a very large crate on the same trip in April that took up the whole boot of a defender. It is fair to say it wasn’t easy to carry. Particularly at the hotel that didn’t have a lift, and had narrow doorways and stairwells!

The nearest I could find so far is this:

cat carrier 60 x 40 x 40

So it's 2/3rds the width and depth you requested, but the right height and is portable, with carry handles and is soft for the cat.
You just need to anchor it to stop it taking off in an emergency swerve.
You could even just about fill the space with two of them turned 90 degrees, as they are only £25 a pop
Thanks. Need something big enough for the cat to be confortable in, food, water and litter. Think I’m looking for something that doesn’t exist sadly
