long story short my mates cat hates me, despite me bring it treats or trying not to annoy it. a month or 2 ago though it went menstral at me as i pretended to shout at my friend. the cat took this as me attacking him and after a while i can get back in the flat but she will look at me and if i move will come over hissing and attempting to swipe at me. we tried putting her in the kitchen everytime she did this then me letting her out but she would come out normal wonder round a bit then if i did anything go mental again. any thoughts on what to do or is a lost cause with cats. ironicly dogs really really like me especially male dogs.

My former brother in law had such a cat - cats normally love me (we have 2) but I was proper scared of this one.
I agreed to feed it when they were on hols once and from the second I entered the house it would be trying to rip my arms off.
They got it from a farm and I think it was basically a feral cat which saw my BIL as 'leader' and anyone else as an enemy.
Might be something similar in your case.
