Recently by cat has given up on Voles and Mice and has started bringing these things in...

Just over an inch long (this one has no tail but they normally do) and obviously some kind of lizard creature.

I live in cornwall, I never realised we had any wild lizard population!

Any ideas what it is??

Oh.

laugh

Well that's not nearly as interesting as I hoped. The cat will have to try harder!

I was just about to post the same!! My cat has brought in about 4 of these or rather 2 whole ones 1 with no tail and just a tail that still wriggled! The whole ones are coming in at 3 to 4 inches.

hehe I'm sure she'll listen! I'm so glad my cats only ever seem to catch mice, and not too many of these either!

She's never been like this before, only since we moved to the countryside! The wifes old cat used to catch and eat rabbits...

Think that's a Common Newt
Definitely not a newt. Its got scales, which makes it a lizard.

I can't see the pic but the UK does have a suprising amount of common lizards in the right sort of habitat. If you have good heathland there can be loads if they are not disturbed...or scoffed by the local cats!

Looks like what my cat is brining in. The link suggests the ones I'm getting are young - size and colour - but it seems too early for young ones.

I didn't take a pic, sorry.

It's underside was scaly and whiteish.

yes Looks like a Common Lizard to me, they are one of my cats favourite prey, but always brought home live he hasn't killed one yet (that i know of), magpies/squirrels/mice/rats/pidgeons/tits/starlings/blackbirds/voles are almost always dying when they get to the house but the lizards he just carrys about. However to be fair to him he is very very very stupid.

Oh the other cat has grown out of hunting small animals now and sticks to other cats and foxes to get her kicks, i feel a massive vets bill coming in the future.
