Other half has a Shih Tzu, 11 months old now.

We live in an apartment so the smaller balcony is his toilet, generally speaking for a pup he has been very good with only doing his business outside, just the odd accident (weekly) indoors.

He got castrated 2 weeks ago, stitch came out on Sunday, since then he has been terrible!

Usually wakes me up in the night if he needs a piss, last 2 nights he has done it in the room, 2 days ago he had 2 sts in our bedroom whilst we were in the house frown

Any ideas why the castration has seemed to made him worse?

I did think it may make him better than before, ie perfect, but no, has gone the other way.

All suggestions gladly received!

Would have hoped the vet would have picked that up, when he took the stitch out he said he was in fine health, none of the usual issues he see's with the breed (eyes etc)

Is there one that would make this behavior likely?

Don't know but, if doctors can miss stuff, I'm sure vets can...

Valid point!

Will get her indoors to give him a call and see what he thinks and see whether anyone else has any ideas.

Cheers

Get his urine tested, unless you mentioned this as a problem it would not necessarily have been picked upon. Failing that could be the stress of having the op rather than the op itself, if so get a plug in DAP diffuser and get him on some Zylkene for a few days this may help. Both are natural products and non prescription.

These could help with the defaecating indoors aswell.

Go back to original toilet training tactics asell for a couple of weeks
