... Bella cloud9

Some of you may already know that Taffy, my resident dog, is a little 'speshul'. From his behaviour I can be pretty certain that he was shut in a shed and beaten frown He has been with me for two years and I am still the only person that can touch him. With me he is a loving, happy, playful boy. He is pretty much frightened of everyone else, terrified of kids, joggers and bikes, OKish with other dogs as long as they have good doggy manners, noise sensitive, movement sensitive... He's come a long way in two years, but still has a way to go.

I had been fostering several other dogs while he has been with me. I tended to get the more needy of the foster dogs, which meant that I spent a lot of time with them in order to make them rehomeable. That meant Taff didn't really get as much attention as he should and it probably didn't help him having other dogs with issues around him. So, I stopped fostering in order to concentrate on Taff. Anyway, after a few discussions with various people, we concluded that Taff may benefit from a well-grounded, no-issue friend. So - Bella has joined us smile

Bella is a 2 yo Border Collie girlie who found herself at the vet's to be pts. This was because she had snapped at one of the kids in the household. The reason she snapped? The owners got in a Cesar Milan type, dominance based, pack leader/alpha type 'behaviourist' mad. This poor dog had her world turned upside down, had no idea what was expected of her anymore, was in a stressful household (marriage break up) and so snapped. No coincidence I think that the person who took Bella in has now taken in another collie, seen by the same 'behaviourist' that was also taken to the vet to be pts for snapping. Bella is a very sweet, loving girl cloud9 She is fun, playful and obedient. She must have been pushed very hard to snap frown as she shows absolutely no sign of any kind of aggression. She seems to have slotted in very well, considering she hasn't been here even 24 hours yet smile

Anyway - enough waffle and on with the pics. Sorry for the quality. Had to borrow my mum's camera, which is not man enough to keep up with the dogs.

It's great to see dog's just running around and playing, especially if they've had a tough life.

Our rescue dog is quite nervous indoors, scared of loud noises, play fighting even housefly's. Outside he's totally different and fearless.

Really very well smile Taff has allowed Bella to sniff him, including his face, bat him with her paws and play with his toys. Also he has been playing within a few hours of her arriving, instead of showing his pearly whites and pinning her. I think he is in lurve!
