Now I know nothing about cats but my sisters two Bengal cats are gorgeous. I am surprised she still has them despite trying to find a new home for them. She can't keep them at her house any more.

My sister is looking to give them to a new home and I have said I would put the word out. She has had quite a few tyre kickers (not sure what the terminology is for selling your pet) but had no joy..

so if anyone would like two gorgeous Bengal cats called Ace and Maverick (yeah Top Gun fans) then drop me a pm.

They are free to a good pet loving home.

Beautiful cats, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a good home for them I'd have thought.

She can't keep them due to a neighbour kicking off about how their cat wont go out due to my sister's cats being around..!!!!
I think they are around 3 years old and get on well together. Well, as good as brothers do...hehe

Pretty brave letting Bengals out in their own - they can be worth a lot and are likely saleable. An ad in (and I hesitate to admit I know these exist - my wife buys it) a mag like "Your Cat" might find a home and a bit of wedge to boot.

However if she would miss the cats I'd suggest she tells her moaning neighbour to shut the fk up and just accept that her cat is a bit of a Jessie. wink

Tell the neighbour to fk off! Cats will sort out their turf wars. How about a compromise, she is allowed to squirt them with a water pistol if they go in her garden so as her cat has its own space? Even if your sister gets rid of her cat, chances are another cat will move in to the area and continue to bully the fanny cat. We have a huge Bengal who is regularly bullied by the tiniest ginger thing on the planet but I don't kick up about it, if ours is too stupid to stand up for himself. I know with a microchip cat flap he always has a safe haven to bolt to so just let them get on with it.

Best not to advertise them as free to a new home as sadly horrible types collect hoardes of free animals and use them for pretty grim purposes. Also, if a new owner is genuine, asking a token price won't be an issue. However, the best thing I would suggest is for the cats be rehomed via your local cats protection league, they vet the new homes in person and follow up the care of the cats after rehoming. Hope that helps

As if anyone would give up getting on for a £1ks worth of cats because a neighbour has said that. Whats the real reason she doesn't want them?

With regards to letting them out, I'm still dubious as to whether to let ours out...

That is the real reason. Neighbours but one have complained that their two cats are being bullied by the Bengals and they even say the Bengals are getting in through the cat flap and eating their cats food. They have gone as far as threatening Police action (think I know what they will do/say) and then court action...

Unfortunately, another neighbour has joined the fray and said one of sis's Bengal's are attacking her cats.

Now I am a cat lovers and have four, but we live in the country and the cats get one with the neighbours (sheep, cows, geese and cats) and my reply was feck em....but sis likes the peaceful life and feels the cats would be better off in a home with lots more ground that she has.

CPL have said they would ask around but have told her Bengals are very hard to rehome.

Obviously, sis would rather sell the cats as they cost her a lot and she does love them but other than move, she is getting upset having neighbours giving her hell. frown

Fair enough. Sound like dicks.

Why are they hard to rehome?

I'd love a bengal, and the OH has had one before so has a bit of experiance. Only a very slight chance really, hence not PM'ing you ATM. Just a question to see if its realistic, where is your sis based?

They can be as they are not really a "town" cat - they will also as likely as not destroy all local wildlife (birds etc) and are fairly known for driving away neighbouring cats........

I wish I could take them but my cat is a grumpy girl now and wouldn't approve of any more newcomers.

Saying that, I can't see that you'd have too much trouble giving away a pair of Bengals given their costs - has she spoken to the breeder about them?

What gives you the idea they destroy all local wildlife and scare other cats? Not disputing, just would be interested to read more about it.
