Dog food amounts, this can't be right?
Discussion
I got some tinned food for my doggie as a temporary measure because she can't eat dried food for a few days. I was thinking she would probably eat two tins a day but the directions say 4-5 cans a day!
That is 2kg of dog food!
She only gets about 500g of dried food!
Is it just crap dog food or something?

You cannot compare dry and wet directly. Wet food is 80% water, dry food 8% so huge dry matter difference there already. So no not necessarily crap food (though I don't know the make so can't be sure!), and it is just a guide, there are lots of variables to take into account, all foods tend to be a bit generous on their guide in my experience though.
If it is just for a couple of days you could probably get away with feeding 3 tins a day without much harm.
If your dog is on it because of illness little and often is best so probabyl wouldn't need more than couple tins (see what I mean about it being a rough guide!)
