I don't know if some of my dogs 'likes' are bad for him or not, but he will eat absolutely anything. He dosen't get treats often, apart from a hide chew after dinner every day to cleanhis teeth.

A small list of odd 'likes':
broccoli stalks
carrot
lettuce
cucumber
baby tomato
olives
pickled onion
melon
pineapple
tangarine
christmas nuts out of shells
takeaway leftover vindaloo
grapes - but i heard these were bad, so no grapes now

Cheese, any type of cheese. As soon as it's out the fridge he wants some. Even if he's out in the garden, he knows there's cheese around.

umm well our dog is the fussiest collie in the kown universe

He won't eat grapes in front of you, but will take one at a time, go into the kitchen, come back for another one, until he's got 20, then spread them round the house, one at a time, and then once they are all spread, he will go from place to place eating them (oh and never in our sight)

only does it with grapes though.

loves sweeties, but we don't know why as we've never actually fed them to him.

Also loves dark chocolate (yes we know the dangers), but also like shte hideous amounts of salt water we have to feed him to purge the chocolate. Trust me we haven't worked out where the chocolate is coming from yet, as we haven't bought any for 8 months and he still had a bar of bourneville the other week.

all very oddd.

Yes ours go mad for crackers as well, and poppadoms! Ours will pretty much eat anything - they generally get a bit of left over whatever we have had for tea in their bowls, including but not limited to chilli, curry, pizza, casserole, pasta, stir fry, roast dinner..... The only thing that one of them hates is peas, if there are some mixed in with what he has got he will carefully spit them out.
My Mums dog used to go crazy for apples - she would jump up at the tree and try and grab a branch to shake a couple off and would then munch away - the amount of foam generated was unbelievable!

Not sure if they are bad for them but prawn crackers!

We had a couple of dogs, one was a total gannett and any food didn't touch the sides with her.

The other one was very gentle and would take any morsel away to inspect it before eating. The look of total confusion upon her face as her hard scrounged treat dissolved in her mouth was priceless!

And the dangers of grapes! That's probably a habit he should break. Interesting behaviour though smile. Our old collie used to try and nibble the skin off the grape before eating it! (I didn't know they were bad for dogs back then!)

Try washing soda crystals to salt for purging more effective and need a lot less of it so much safer smile.

I think he goes to the shops and buys the chocolate, he's a collie so he is definitely clever enough to do this hehe

labradors = eat anything and everything that they can fit in their mouths

our puppy particularly likes wires and cabling - especially on transformers for products with particularly odd connectors that are hard to replace.

our is a heinz 57, but she is bloody fussy, one day she will eat something next day she won't.

will turn her nose up at the pre sliced cheese, but goes for a bit of Stilton or goats cheese.

has never turned her nose up at salted peanuts (not dry-roast) salt and vinegar crisps and our favourite, the Lotus Caramelised biscuits though.

Our dear departed Lakeland bh had a penchant for soap. Whilst she would eat virtually anything resembling food, leaving a bar of soap unatended was fatal. She would eat it smartish.

You can imagine the consternation that disappearing bars of soap caused before we found out what was happening. laugh

We did learn that mince and beans was not a good thing for her....it made her fart like an AK47, as loud and as rapid...Die laughing? Bloody near, I'll say.

Carrots are an almost daily "treat" for our dogs - it works well to clean the teeth.

One of ours has a penchant for Chocolate Buttons - if she can find them she'll rip open the bag and eat the lot.

They will eat gherkins, coleslaw, tomatoes, cucumber even a pickled onion etc.. and one loves curry.. One loves doughnuts.

One will eat pretty much anything - she even took three attempts at eating a slice of lemon, before giving up and asking for something else....

ETA - oh they will eat roast potatoes, gravy, stuffing, yorkshire puddings - we've given them a Christmas Dinner before now, they wolfed it down....

I once gave each of our dogs some pickled octopuss.

The first dog (who was confused by the prawn cracker) just spat it out.

The other one (the gannett) kept trying to eat it but just couldn't get her head around the taste or texture and reluctantly left it.

She was most upset as she knew it was food but couldn't eat itbiggrin

Cucumber, cucumber, cucumber. All day long - he knows from the back of the garden that a nice big juicy slice is there and ensures it has his name on.

And carrot.

Don't think they're supposed to eat onions though, even pickled ones...

That look on their faces is priceless, when they KNOW that they want to eat, it, they have the opportunity to eat it, but just cant!

Boris for some reason likes Doritos. No other crisps though! Whenever im having doritos and dip, he'll start drooling beofre ive even open the bag... but he cant eat a whole one... you have to break one into about 4 tiny bits other wise he tries to play with it rather than eat it!

As for BEau... well... she'll barely eat her own food let alone anyone elses!

Chilli, garlic, curry the stronger the flavour the better.
He also adores wine, you have to be very careful where you put your glass, or else you get a collie tongue in it.

My old dog used to mug you when you had just picked runner beans up the garden. He would leap up and try to grab them. Also raw potatoes, we wondered where they were going until he was caught in the act of stealing from the potato bins, raw onions peel and all, basically any raw fruit or veg.

Please don't feed your dogs grapes or onions, garlic isn't great for them either and gives them bad breath

Chewing gum. Well, he doesn't eat it but I chew a shed load as I have a gap in my rear teeth that only gum will clean. Anyway, when he hears the tub rattle he gets ready on the arm of the sofa and has his nose 1mm from my mouth.....then he spends the next 10mins furiously licking hin lips/nose.
