I have 2 cats - mum & daughter and mum is suffering with triaditis at the moment. Unfortunately this leads to her pooping on the carpet quite regularly.
I have noticed the last couple of times I have used bleach that Skitz (the daughter who is bonkers hence the name!) goes mad for the smell of it on my hands. She really rubs my hand hard with her face and has even gently bit me a few times.
It seems she can't get enough of it. Does anyone know why this is and is using it on the carpets likely to cause any issues?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

suspect you might end up having bald patches in the carpet after a while smile

Not heard of that. You can get special cat urine removers though - something like Pet Wee Away.

Both of mine go mental after I have mopped the floor, and I let them back in after it has dried. They go absolutely ballistic over it.

Also the smell of chlorine after I have been swimming.

We had a cat that would climb in the toilet if you put bleach in there and forgot to close the lid.

It was a Maine Coon though, and they are properly mental.

try flushing the toilet with the cat inside ? sooner or later the cat would associate the smell with getting wet, might need several attempts to get it right smile

We have a maine coon ragdoll cross that is mental at the best of times, but the smell of bleach turns him even more crazy. Have to say i thought it was wierd as we also have a siamese that couldn't care for the smell less, nice to know he's not the only one.
