Hi all

We've got a Bernese mountain dog (~45kg) and need a ramp to get her into the back of a touareg.

Anyone had any good/bad experiences with these ?

I see people using them when they visit us. They seem to work well. Do you know where to get them from. If not I can probably find out.

There is an article in Dogs Monthly this month about a chap who bought a Newfoundland and realised that there was a lack of availability of equipment in the UK for large dogs so set up a web site to cater for them after getting made redundant.

Try orvis.co.uk as they have a decent doggie range or try overthetoptextiles.co.uk. Check the ramp's load weight and length as these vary.

Cheers.

A bloke local to me makes them, so we got one of his for the Newfie (his daughter had a Newfie which is how he started making them).

their cages are very good, never used a ramp of theirs though.

I got one from a friend, who makes them, I am so glad I did. I have lent it to a friend of a friend who has a male Hovawart and it takes his weight without an issue.

Relative uses one of these to get three burmi's in a pick up truck. A bit excessive but all three like to go up together.

Serious kit - but I think if I had 3 dogs I'd get a van with a tail-lift !

That would be me byebye

We used the Petgear tri-fold one that is on the Barjo site. It's pretty good - nice and wide for big dogs and pretty solid. Heavy though!

Please give me a shout if I can help with anything else.

Neil.
