Help - dog might have eaten a couple of snowdrops
Discussion
Hi,
The dog (greyhound) has a habit of munching grass when she's in the garden this morning.
Today, she may have eaten one or two snowdrops.
A google search reveals that they are indeed poisonous but I can't see anything regarding what quantities might cause harm.
Given that it was just one or two, I'm not overly concerned ... should I be?
I know the majority of the replies are going to be "phone the vet" but ...
Cheers,
Eric

Vets can contact the veterinary poisons unit (usually at a cost to you though) who often have statistics on toxic levels on these sort of things, though often they advise a play safe approach, always difficult to know with plants.
Unfotunately I have no previous experience with snowdrops but I have with daffodils and an animal that ingests the bulbs do need treatment.
ETA - it appears the bulb is the main area of concern with snowdrops aswell, the suggestion is low level toxicity which will generally cause gastrointestinal upset.

This could be useful to many, can't seem to copy it as it's a pdf but this is the google page look at dogs trust entry. Covers loads of plants (though nothing on Snowdrop, typical!)
