Gutted is not even the word I'd use to describe how I feel!! Came home from spending a weekend in York with the parents, only to find my carpet was soaking wet. Then peered into the spare room to find the fish tank had about an inch worth's of water in the tank. All the fish had died, not happy at all!!

Sorry weekend rant over!!!

Sorry to hear about that. I cracked my sump once by accident on the marine tank, major panic ensued. I was lucky I had a spare sheet of glass roughly the same size and some sealant, had to do a repair in situ as couldn't switch it all off, nor move anything. Proper pain in the backside doing that.

Hope you can rebuild.

Nobody's mentioned it ,but seem to remember when I replaced a side in my tank - was advised to use special silicone .

Sorry to hear that.

As stated above, ensure you only repair using proper aqautic use siicone.

What acvtually caused the leak?

Yeah you can buy small tubes of proper aquatic use only sealant, or a larger gun style canister.

Thanks for all your replies guys. On further inspection the tank had cracked across the bottom. Very frustrating to say the least. Me and the missus are considering to get another tank or not.

Godiva are the david beckhams of the marine world.

Or you could build your own. We got a 2nd hand 300l tank then modded it and built a 60l sump.

If it's any help - we have a large tank available + Eheim 2126 Professional 2 filter pump (cost about £300) + various fishy related accessories, 2 air pumps food blocks etc. Our fish died and we are not replacing them.
