Hi there,

When I was a kid, these little dearies were prolific in the fields around my Mum's house. Completely harmless, slow and easy for kids to catch etc.
However, I haven't seen one in donkey's years.
Does anyone know what they are???

Cheers

Phil

Still very common in "wilder" places like unimproved wildflower meadows, woodland glades etc. Saw quite a few when I was photographing butterflies last June-Sept smile

You see a very distinctive neon pinky flash when they fly past.

I see a lot of them locally amongst coastal sand dunes that are heavily grazed by rabbits. (North of Scotland)
