Devils Claw - Anyone used it for their pets?

I have a 15.5yr old cat who (as many of you may have read before in cat photos thread) is having some significant problems with his back and hind legs due to arthritis in his spine (a long standing problem that has esculated in the last few months)

I have tried various treatments and he was on long term glucosamine and non steroidals, unfortunately non steroidals appear to be having little effect and he is now reacting to them so he is now on steroids.

I am aware that Devils claw (a herbal not homeopathic tx) is a natural anti inflammatory product that is used for joint pain and am considering getting some for Fitz (I'm prepared to try anything within reason) but I would be interested to know if anyone has any first hand experience with it.

I should add that the 'front half' of Fitz is still the same old Fitz, he's my amazing little four legged friend but his back legs are letting him down (no incontinence and still tries to chase little Ren cat) I just want to try and make whatever time he has left as comfortable as possible.

Have you considered cortiflex or yumove ? Both eased our Newfie's back - she has spondilosis.

Not used Devils Claw on our pets to date.

Both of the products are very similar to what I have been using already so I don't think they will make much difference but thank you for the suggestion. The supplement was helping but I think it has gone beyond that now.

Devils claw appears to have a different action which is why I'm interested.

Well it was worth a shot! Obviously not really known about amongst the PH pet owners, which is fair enough I only found out about it after remembering a client at work mentioning it but I can't remember who it was!
