Probably about time my 7 year old Mastiff X Rottie went onto a senior dog food. He's been on Iams large breed all his life, but they don't do a large breed senior, just a general senior.Eukanuba do a large breed senior.I tried him on the Arden Grange senior but it was too small for him,and he would only eat it if it was sprinkled on something larger.Made a difference to his coat though ,even in the relatively small amount he had.Heard good things about skinners? Anything else worth considering thats big enough for him to crunch on to take him into old age?

Which one is large breed senior? Found senior foods but nothing large breed specific?

We try a senior light from our local wholesaler its £12.99 for 15kg and our bully loves it.We use Dr Johns for the other two girls at £9.00 for 15kg. We used to use Ekenuba but the bank wouldnt extend the overdraft for us to buy it for 3 dogs.
All the Dogs are happy good weight lovely coats.Maybe we associate good food by high price the Dogs are just hungry.

Sorry I dont think I fully read the OP before replying.

You say that the coat changed with the small amount they had, was that in a positive way?

Coat was definitely softer. Shame the bits were on the small side. Currently in the process of changing him onto WellBeloved large Kibble. Nice big bits that he's got to crunch before swallowing.Spoke to them and they reckon its suitable for dogs as they go into old age but to use the senior light if he puts on weight.

James Wellbeloved is very good. Used to feed my large dog the large kibble but Light as he had a delicate tummy. His coat always looked fantastic.
