Hi all. Can anyone recommend an effective way of removing dog hair from furniture? Lint rolls are OKish for clothes but can't seem to find an easy way of removing from blankets and sofa etc without having to bring out the hoover. Any ideas??

I find a hairbrush works quite well. Try one of those soft, but densly bristled ones - they seem to collect up the pet hair quickly.

I have read of Latex gloves being recommended before but haven't tried them myself yet.

Try masking tape strips,if that doesnt work then try strips of carpet tape.Stick in on the required area, give it a rub and whip it off (a bit like leg waxing,or so i'm told)
They worked wonders when i had to get loads of dog hairs off car seats.

+ 1 leather sofa, no cushions, an engineered wood floor and rugs that go in the washing machine!

If you've got a tumble dryer a quick blast in that seems to do the trick for me.

I use marigolds after clipping two dogs on carpet! It is presentable enough for me to not have to hoover immediately!

I use a dyson DC33 animal. It comes with a very useful "turbo" brush attachment which saps the hair off anything.

yes Thats us. Place smells less 'doggy' as well.

Same as a lint thingy. But cellotape wrapped round your hand works well.

I suppose by 'lint brush/roll' you mean this? brush it one way and its smooth, brush the other and its spiky.

And as mentioned above. Damp latex/marigolds.
