Had a quick google to try & identify these birds, but I haven't got a clue.

anyone have an idea what these are ?

Thanks guys, after looking at the RSPB website, it looks like they normally stay on the east coast of the UK, but I guess with the harsh winter we've had this year they've come further inland.

I've yet to see any around near us. Our local birds are very hungry and are going through their feeders very quickly. We'd love to get the Robin a little more braver but he still remains a very shy and fleeting visitor.

I've got to be very careful with ours. If I don't look out, I'll decapitate him when I'm digging the garden. I always thought they were territorial, but we've got at least four use our feeder, and they don't fight, which surprises me. But then, they've got at least five blackbirds, a thrush, and several sparrows to share with. Now the starlings have got the hang of the mealworm feeder on the front garden, they use that, while the blackbird waits for the ones they drop.
