Right now I have your attention, here’s the boring stuff!

My cat keeps peeing on the front door. Not very pleasant, but as I have lodgers I need to sort this out quickly.

I have tried blenching, and the window spray and the draping of different fabricates on the carpet area. But these are not working! I have also shoved her nose in it and giving her tough love treatment.

What else can I do?

DON'T PUNISH, this will actually do nothing at all except cause a fear response which could increase the spraying behaviour and cause them to start spraying elsewhere.

There's lots to do firstly stop using bleach.

Go to this link it will give you all the correct info to try and stop the issue

News to me that female cats spray as well, but I kind of guessed. Great article, cheers for the links.

This idea is actually advised against as there is a high risk of just making the cat move to another area to spray, as you are not solving the reason why the cat is doing it in the first place (there is nearly always an underlying reason)

I hope I'm wrong and it has sorted for you but don't be suprised if it starts up again somewhere else.
