Heard a miaow from the kitchen which is normally the cat signalling another inch long mouse dropped in the middle of the kitchen floor - normally dead of course but then this thing greeted me - fking christ ...

I put an egg by it just to prove the size of it ... those boards in the kitchen are 6" wide as well -

Big mouse or small rat?

Don't pick it up by the tail (Weil's) without gloves and wash your hands afterwords.

We bag em using the bag as a glove and disinfect the area. Sometimes they are alive when they come in and then the fun starts.

Typical fare from ours

^^^ we do the same. Biggest thing one of our Bengals has brought in was a Pheasant!

Rat, I'd say. Pondered the same question myself a few months ago:

Cat's had another 3 or 4 since, but the rest he's eaten pretty much whole. Rat is obviously a tasty feast!

I wish mine would learn to kill his prey rather than - as has happened no fewer than eight times in the last month - bringing them in unharmed, letting them go, watching them run around the house instead of recapturing them and then underlining his failings as a cat by leaping out of the way in fear whenever the mouse squeaks at him.

Me - he's brought another one in.
OH - what, alive again?
Me - yes. If only we had a cat...

Bless.

No wonder it died if it's just laid that massive egg.

Just spent half an hour trying to find the pictures of this little beastie I found one morning.

I've never seen a bat anywhere near here.

I did also get a second one that day. Well, maybe an eighth...
