Does anyone out there have a home they could offer to a beagle that has been found by my practice. Kiera is a 2 yr old neutered bh who really loves people and has a brilliant nature, but due to her breeding, is not the sort of dog that can be let off the lead as she immediately starts to hunt and will not listen, she is also probably not suited to being left alone in a house as she barks and chews when alone, so she would need a cage if left alone. Unfortunately I have too many dogs already aas do most of my staff otherwise she would already be in a new home. We can provide a temporary home if someone is genuinely interested, but it needs to be a suitable home, not just anyone.
as you can see, the tail doesn't stay still, she's good with kids, she has heaps of energy and is all round fun. Reason for asking here is that we don't want her to go to a dogs home where anyone couold pick her and she is not suited to someone who doesn't know about a hound. Drop me an email if anyone interested to find out more.

The RIGHT rescue will match her to the right home and not just anyone.

If you let me know where abouts you are I can find a reputable rescue who will homecheck and take great care in ensuring she goes to the right home smile

EDIT: You could always put her on Dog Pages in Private Rehomings too.

I take it she's not microchipped?

Don't HMRC, MOD etc use beagles as sniffer dogs for explosives and drugs?

Thanks for that, we will try there to see if we get any joy. And yes she was microchipped, which is how we know some of her history, but the two previous owners are not suitable for her as they had no idea what a beagle can be like. As to where Kiera is, unfortunately just south of Glasgow, but I'm quite happy to bring her anywhere for the right person.

Well one is usually enough but surely two can't be that much worse. She is good with other dogs though.

We have tried, but I think it very important to get the right group as she cannot just go to anyone as she has before. Hope you have more luck than we did.

Sadly, he agrees with you that one is enough.

I am sorry about that.

I fear the day when I've got enough money to look after a dog, I'll be accepting rehomes left right and centre. Best of luck smile

you're as bad as we are, I sometimes think we are more a rehoming centre than a vets. Latest rehome was a dear little cat left behind when owners moved away, she was quite scruffy looking so I was really worried re: the rspca taking her, so we kept her and finally found a good home for her. I was so so tempted to have her but had to say no having 3 cats a dog and a baby on the way helped!!

Good luck with finding the right home for her.
