Just on Sky News now - plane is still on the surface. Survivors seen on the wings.

It's certainly the one of the most intact airframes of that size after ditching that I've seen.

I don't claim to know much, but from the TV pictures that looks fking miraculous as from what I gather ditching on water isn't pleasant because the engines dig in the water and rip the plane apart.

I wonder if the water is 10 feet deep and it's "sitting" rather than floating?!

That water is going to be ferkin' cold - friend was over there the other week and said how bloomin' cold it is.

Guess the adrenalin from crash landing will keep you warm for a little while longer though.

Amazing how small it looks next to those boats. Can they get a line under it and stop it sinking ?

must have come down very quickly after takeoff because its still showing as "delayed" on the trackers at the moment.
