So sorry to hear. I know how you feel. Had my dog Skye PTS on Weds she would have been 17 in Sept. I'd had her since she was 8 weeks old. The house is v empty.

So sorry but you’re one of the lucky ones, not everyone gets to experience the utter joy of letting a mutt into their lives.

I’m dreading the day, thoughts and all that.

Sorry for your loss.

13 years is a good age for a large dog. My GSD is just about to turn 10 and looks remarkably well, barely a grey hair but this year he's started with the random lumps and bumps that older dogs seem to get. Does make you conscious of how limit the time we have with them is.

Words are pretty useless right now, nothing but pixels on a screen really but you have my thoughts during a horrible time O/P.

Sorry to read that. It’s an awful experience. Try and take comfort in knowing how good a life he was able to have thanks to you. All the best.

Sorry to hear this, Ive been there and remember the emptiness in the house, and the difficulty adjusting to routine.

As hard as it might sound, we got a lot of comfort just flicking back through years of photos and reliving all of the trips and days away, and the silly and fun moments with us and the family. Picked out a selection of the best and got a photo collage made up.

Ahh bugger frown Truly sorry to read this Akita1. I am hardly ever on here these days but I will never forget your gorgeous boy being part of the discussions I used to get involved in on here.

He was a beautiful boy and I know he was very much loved, 13 is and amazing age but I know it is never enough.

Thinking of you and hoping those memories will help with the healing

Two years next month for us also, still go and visit him weekly (burial ground). It’s hard.
