Hello

Cats seem to be very bored lately. They have a catio which due to the weather they are not really using

Ive tried 20 plus toys from the little ones in aldi to a cat wheel.

Anyone have anything else random I could try ?

They seem most interested in birds outside and things that run from then

Plastic toys and " brain trainers " get sniffed and left

Thanks

Mine used to love ping pong balls, not chasing them but waiting for you to throw them to her so she could smack them back. Or one of these

it looks like something you'd unblock a sink with, but she was obsessed with it.

My boy goes absolutely nuts chasing a laser pointer. Avoid eyes though.

My cat isn't very interested in laser pointers but when she's feeling punchy she does like to beat the hell out of a catnip fish:

Once the original catnip wears off just add a few drops from a bottle.

And string is always a cheap reliable toy.

Biggest winners for us...

These: https://amzn.eu/d/03CtyqK

Or just a rolled up sheet of paper, strip of cardboard, one of those thick rope-like strings from a good quality paper shopping bag and hair bobbles.

Good old feathers on a stick & string.

I was dubious when mrsp bought one of these but it has proved surprisingly effective. Forms into folds & tunnels using the press studs & when used in conjunction with the feathers on a stick & various vibrating or moving cat toys hidden in the folds keeps them - & us - entertained.
Even sliding the rigid end of the stick underneath it when one of them is sat on the mat drives them potty.

Sheets of tissue paper. Rustles & also drives them potty. Charge down the room & jump onto them causing the tissue to slide on the carpet. Don't last long but not expensive & the large bits can be piled or scrunched up.

Pen lids, if you don’t have carpets.

Used to have great fun with our girl when she was younger - up and down the corridor.

She’s too old for all that now sadly, being in her mid 80s equivalent.

One of ours loves scrunched up till receipts. She'll play fetch with them for ages.
