Getting two dogs to get along

So we have two dogs, originally had dog A and he lived here for a good few years, then dog B came along. Dog A was not too happy as obviously dogs are territorial. However, they got along after some time and would eventually play around in the garden together and were happy to sit next to each other whilst inside the house.
Here's the issue though, house is occupied by male and female who are living in separate rooms. Dog A sleeps in room for the female and dog B with the male. When male goes to leave the house, Dog B goes to visit the female. Dog A is a little possessive or on guard of the female, perhaps, because upon dog B entering the room dog A starts growling and won't let dog B onto the females bed. Any ideas on how to resolve? TIA

Sometimes, these things settle down, sometimes they don't. How long has this been happening?

Difficult one for the Internet to answer, maybe time to get a behaviourist in.

Years. Dog B came along in 2019 summer. Curiously, when the male and female are away, they can usually get on well together sleeping on her bed.

If it's been going on this long, I would think you'd have to:

1) Have them both sleep in one bedroom or the other
2) Have them both sleep in a single (neutral) space
3) Leave Dog B somewhere else when the male leaves

They have gone on a walk before but are not walked at all, we have large grounds and they run around a large garden.

Seems obvious to not let them sleep either separately or in bedrooms if you say they get along when A and B aren’t staying there. Perhaps start with that and see what happens, as well as telling A and B why you’re doing it.

Edit: sorry, I see you’re referring to the dogs as A and B - I’m referring to the people as A and B instead.
