Dog occasionally very protective over new baby with 1yo
Discussion
Following on from my other thread about unsettled pooch after moving house and having a baby in 3 days...
She has largely settled down but now she is very protective over the baby but only from our 1 year old.
She was protective over the 1 year old when she was very young which is mirrored here but now it seems a bit more serious.
Twice now when our 1 year old has crawled quite quickly after, Bonnie (the dog) has lunged forward and barked. This is obviously quite concerning and VERY out of character for the most placid dog that has ever lived.
Bonnie has also been growing a bit at the one year old when she's fed up of having the one year old too close/playing. She is in a hitting phase and she tries to pull her hair. We are very on top of this and stop it most of the time before it happens.
It's not a resentment because Bonnie gives our daughter kisses and rushes to go up with me and wake her up from naps. She loves her sister, it's just this one behaviour we need some help with to nip it in the bud.
Dog is 5 1/2 year old female cockapoo. Very placid and loving.

I don't have children and never have, so can't comment on dog/child interaction. She has largely settled down but now she is very protective over the baby but only from our 1 year old.

First stop for me would, however, be the vet - just in case there is any underlying medical reason for the change in behaviour.
But my thinking would be that you need professional advice rather than amateurs on the internet (with all due respect to everyone here). Seek out a behaviourist local to you - by recommendation if possible. Your vet may be able to help with this.

Do you have insurance? Some policies cover behavioural advice I believe (although this may be limited to video calls, etc).
