My wife found this in our sink yesterday, so out onto the step it went.

It was looking a bit sorry for itself but responded well to some honey and water and is now fast asleep on the window frame.

I can't tell if it's just a bumble bee that's had a hard life... or a yet to be catalogued invader.

Thanks, I've noticed a few (better specimens) floating about this week and thought they'd be better off tucked up in bed by now.

All Bumble Bees die about now. Only Queens overwinter.

You're mistaken I'm afraid. That's Felix, Kevin's twin brother.

It looks soaked. I'd put it somewhere warm to dry out.

Can’t believe people just turn up on threads acting like they know stuff. That’s CLEARLY Dave, their younger brother

If it's a bee, in addition to feeding it, warm it up gently with a warm air gun. Don't cook him, it will revive him.

It's a Bumble Bee and at this time of year it's time to die. With Honey Bees all the drones (male bees) have also been kicked out to die as they serve no purpose to the rest of the colony. It's a tough life for a bee - I have around 180,000 in my back garden in three hives and if I'm lucky 50% will see it through to Spring. To put things into context the average life span of a summer bee is around 6 weeks.
