Cat GPS tracker

One of our cats appears to have turned an absolutely enormous area into 'his' territory. We've spotted him in a couple of different places a very long way from home. We're really curious to see just how far he goes on his daily patrols.

I wanted to get a basic GPS tracker for him but most of the stuff that's coming up on searches so far is subscription based stuff and seems to be more geared to tracking animal activity or finding a lost animal and I'm also doubtful that things like air tags would work locally as there really aren't many people around to bounce a signal around.

I think what I'm really after is something very basic and cheap that will just keep an internal log of GPS coordinates at time intervals that can be downloaded at a later date, via a cable if need be. Small enough to fit a bog standard cat.

Any recommendations?
